Learning goes to Canada—literally! No boundaries!

Sophie’s Mind was my tutor back when I was in elementary. I attended a twice a week Math tutorial at their Center in P. Burgos, Pasig. That was before we moved to Canada 5 years ago. Currently, I am a University student struggling with my Math class due to its online and fast-paced set-up. After a couple of weeks into my term, I realized I cannot do it alone and I needed help.

I reached out to Sophie’s Mind and asked if they can help an overseas university student like me. They were very gracious to accept me and even adjusted to my time zone here in Canada. Teacher Mervin, my Sophie’s Mind teacher, was always enthusiastic and motivating. Not to mention, his lesson delivery was very helpful since he divides the information into absorbable chunks. By doing so, my tutorials were supplemental and not an additional burden to the information that I absorb from my other classes. In addition, aside from explaining the basics to me, I was given practice questions that I can solve for mastery. This was very helpful in my case because I find the need to understand the process prior to mastery. Also, I found Teacher Mervin’s solving techniques to be more time-saving as compared to what has been taught to us in class.

With their help, I was able to pass my Math class and to gain confidence to be independent with my future Math classes. Teacher Mervin and Sophie’s Mind were able to teach me the importance of knowing Mathematical foundations and how practice helps you understand the process and master the subject.

Because of this, I can certainly say that I am ready to face more complex Math classes in my College Freshman year! Here’s to learning independently without boundaries!

Before I end, I would like to thank Sophie’s Mind Tutorial Center and T. Mervin for all the help and guidance. Not only can they help elementary and high school students, but they can also help a university/college students like me!
